Spotlight on…Our President

If you were to speak to any employee at Jason International, they would tell you that the heart and soul of this company lies in our president, Remo Jacuzzi. His story is one that ties in with an even larger family story spanning generations, from Italian immigrants in the turn of the 20th century to the creation of the whirlpool spa industry.

Remo’s father, Valeriano, immigrated to the United States in 1907, where he settled in Northern California. More family members followed, and in 1915 Valeriano and five of his brothers founded the Jacuzzi Brothers company. It was in this atmosphere that Remo grew up.

After graduating from high school, Remo went on to study business and mechanical engineering at the University of California at Berkeley. He was a member of Sigma Phi fraternity and played for the school’s football team. In 1957 he married his high school sweetheart, Paula, and continued to study and work in the family business.

After working for Jacuzzi Brothers in the US, Remo was transferred to Brazil in 1968 to manage the company’s plant there. In 1979 the family sold the Jacuzzi Bros. business, and in 1980 Remo was transfered back to the US where he served as president of Jacuzzi Bros. in Little Rock, Arkansas.

In 1982, Remo founded Jason International in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has spent over 25 years as president of Jason, overseeing the introduction of numerous products to the hydrotherapy industry. Jason International employs a number of Jacuzzi family members in the industry, including three of Remo’s children working in management, along with other family members working in development and sales.

Though he has received many awards over his career, the most recent honor for Mr. Jacuzzi has been his induction into The Haas School of Business Hall of Fame at his alma mater, the University of California at Berkeley.
